A Memorable Walk on the Slopes of Kilimanjaro

You will be picked up in Moshi in the morning and driven to the Marangu Gate for registration. After completing park formalities, your hike begins through the dense rainforest zone of Mount Kilimanjaro. The trail is well maintained and gently ascending, making it suitable for travelers with a moderate level of fitness.

As you walk, your guide will share insights about the unique flora and fauna of the mountain. Keep your eyes open for blue monkeys and black and white colobus monkeys swinging through the trees. After approximately three to four hours of hiking, you will reach Mandara Hut, located at about 2,700 meters above sea level. Here you can rest, enjoy your packed lunch, and take in the peaceful mountain atmosphere.

After lunch, you will continue with a short hike to Maundi Crater. From the crater rim, you may enjoy clear views of Mount Kilimanjaro’s peaks, the Kenyan border, and the surrounding landscapes on a good weather day. After soaking in the scenery and capturing memorable photos, you will descend back to Marangu Gate and return to Moshi in the late afternoon.
